Kenji debuts soulful single "Surplus"

Written by Cameron Capers

Eighteen year old Matthew Evans, better known as Kenji, released his debut single "Surplus" ahead of his debut EP 'I'll Think of Something Better,' out June 10th via Sports Day Records. Written the night before his eighteenth birthday, Kenji states, "I realized that I wasn’t actually doing any of the shit I said I wanted to be doing, so I decided to sing about it". Kenji's unique blend of DIY bedroom pop with soul/R&B has me very excited to the rest of his debut EP.
